yergh…wednesday flyby. its not that i have no drive to post semi-regularly these days. its just that the weekdays for the most part lately have been chill and relaxing. and besides…the weekdays used to be filled with random movie news, which sad to say, there is little to be bothered mentioning. there were 2 bits i was going mention, but they turned out to be poot. theres supposedly a “teaser” for the upcoming brett ratner x3 up on their site. but its nothing…a quick video of alkali lake and some cheesy graphics. oooh, thrilling. my faith in brett ratner at the helm of x3 has been restored. theres also a review up on aicn for sam mendes jarhead which is kinda coo, but the review wasnt overly enthusiastic (even tho he liked the movie). ho hum.

hmm, pretty quiet week. some random quips here and there. i picked up a new last exile collection the other week because my japanese versions just getting on my nerves. “lavie we want fly now where sky birds yes…” argh! what the hell does that even mean? yea, so i got the new collection with subs from the american release, and the last 2 discs (there are 3 discs) doesnt play on my dvd player. grr! i try to get it exchanged, but have to wait another week and a half til they get it restocked. then i start playing it last nite, and disc 3 doesnt work! argh…im gonna stab my eyes out. anyhoo, ive already ordered a new one online, and ill probably just return this one. grr…

err…im still sleepy. my minds kinda pudding at the moment, so im just gonna lay down a random post. last nite was an unexpected reunion of sorts of people i hadnt seen in…years(?). jackie was in from singapore (on her way to l.a.), karen was in from oregon, and i4 i hadnt spoken to in years til recently. we met up for mexican at cafe el portal, along with i4s roommate…so that was interesting to say the least.
gilligan…aka bob denver died yesterday. *sigh* a world without gilligan. the world just changed a little bit for the worse. it feels like just yesterday i was watching the gilligan reruns…

im feeling particularly lazy today…so im gonna just pull one of those brief news-bit posts, where a few lines of text and a picture will sufficiently fill the space. a new higher-res version of the international trailer for harry potter and the goblet of fire is out. you can see alot more of the sweet details in this version than the one posted the other week. *scans archives* hmm, ok. apparently the quality of that one was so bad that i actually didnt post about it (but i did check it out for myself). whups. well whatever…you can check this one out then.

aeon flux trailer
word, the new trailers up for aeon flux. well…actually, its a few days old. but the first trailer was up on mtv‘s site…and they suck, so i couldnt watch the trailer. thankfully tho, its now in a nice and big quicktime format, so we’re good to go. the trailer is…actually pretty coo! i was admittedly a bit underwhelmed by the pics that have been surfacing the last couple of months. but i guess aeon flux never looked that good static. its always been more fun with aeon ninja-flipping all over the place killing people. and while the old dental floss outfit is still missed, im upgrading aeon up from yawn to ooh goody (i wouldve seen it anyway, mind you…)

oh yea…almost forgot. there are new pics up of matt damon in a police uniform from his upcoming movie, the departed. what the fuck is the departed you ask? hehe, surprise…its the name of martin scorsese’s remake of infernal affairs. so i guess these are some of the first pics from the movie. the site thats linked states that the movie is “inspired by” and not actually a remake, given the numerous cultural identifiers of infernal affairs, but that the premise is straight up from the original. ok, ill buy that. anyhoo, i hadnt heard much of the remake in a while, so this bit of news is coo to hear.

i finally got to play with my d70s some more this weekend. sattys original bike ride was cancelled, but i met up later in the day with fish to chill in west new york/edgewater. we bummed around mitsuwa and roamed up and down the waterside. we caught starbucks and chess…won 3 games, woot. i headed back to the city and got off on christopher st to go stroll the hudson river park and squeeze off some nite shots. all in all, love the cam. still working out some of the settings, and i also found out (tho i kinda already knew) that the cam shoots nef files…so i guess ill still have to use their software. blah. for now tho, i grabbed these from the jpg previews. the pics are nothing fancy…just trying the cam out in different lights and settings. fun fun.
oh, and before i get to the pics…just wanted to shoehorn this to the end of the post, because i dont want to make a new one (which will be all of one sentence long). new extra preview of a preview of the goblet of fire…word. very coo, if only the announcer would shut the fuck up.
