doom 3

satanists rejoiced as the long-anticipated doom 3 has finally hit the shelves, and ign has a hands-on. ign takes a look at how doom 3‘s evolved from its predecessor, changing from a run-and-gun to more of a thriller. i spied my roomie fonz creeping his way thru freaky dark halls last night, shotgunning zombies and imps. the graphics looked pretty sick, and its a significant jump from the its predecessor, doom 2. i still remember interning at an office the summer after my senior year of high school, and a group of us interns had set up doom 2 stations and played deathmatches incessantly during lunch breaks. ah…those were the days. anyhoo, i may get the game, but im still not sure how my geforce 4 would perform. fonz was sporting an fx card, and the graphics looked pretty sweet at max settings (but at a reasonable resolution), so maybe my geforce 4 would be able to handle it. i really just want to see the revamped cyberdemon…
