100 movies that deserve more love

didnt i say all day long? ALL. DAY. LONG. yo. thanks to tien for this link. chud ran a coo article the other day, listing 100 movies that deserve more love. and im all over movies that deserve more love. the list covers a wide variety of movies from the 80’s, 90’s, and up til yesterday. i personally agree with alot of the movies listed, but actually didnt realize that some of the movies i knew and loved werent recognized much when they first came out. some movies that made the list i didnt think anyone even remembered…such as 5. in the mouth of madness (i even saw this in the theaters), 7. the arrival (scottie claimed i was one of the aliens), 43. james and the giant peach, and 93. pump up the volume. there were a number of movies on the list that are definitely on my personal list of favorite movies, and deserved more attention than they got.

2. the devils backbone…a movie guillermo del toro directed a few years ago that is creepy as all hell. and now hes gone on to make hellboy…word.
9. brotherhood of the wolf…an ambitious french movie thats also one of fishs personal favorites.
10. gattaca…what the hell is this doing on the list? one of my all-time favorite movies, gattaca was years ahead of its time in terms of subject matter and *wallpaper swishiness.
12. equilibrium…i definitely expected to see this make the list. under-appreciated and overly coo, christian bale rocked in this movie. and it was actually the movie that got him considered (and eventually cast) for the new batman movie. the gun-kata was also rock.
77. the rules of attraction…not surprising actually. the movie put shannyn sossamon on my top 10.
97. a life less ordinary…god, it pains me to see this movie on the list. trippy and surreal danny boyle movie…which followed on the success of trainspotting. shit, it even got me to download bobby darins “beyond the sea“.

gosh, look at all those links. anyhoo…god bless netflix.
