multi-purpose posts are so much fun…its like a funbag of randomness. last nite a bunch of us headed to the tokion/spiewak party down at don hill’s. there was an open bar, live music, free bag’o’stuff…how can you go wrong? the party was even sponsored by both brooklyn lager and some vodka company. something for everyone…woo! the live band…chin chin…was pretty coo too. like air channeling old-school stevie wonder channeling k.c. and the sunshine band. the synth-robo-voice lead singer keyboardist was also sporting a big bling double-C hanging from his neck…very classy dude. sunday parties…whew.
a random bit of cinema today. aicn posted the coo trailers for a recently released korean movie…natural city. its like the korean take on blade runner…with a sprinkling of matrix and alot of ridiculous effects. the two trailers are absolutely gorgeous, but the reviews i read for it kinda poo’d on it…pointing out that theres far too much style over substance. fuck. i was about to order it too…but i already have returner, so i dont really feel like making that mistake again. feh. check out the trailers anyway tho. its alot of pretty pretty moving pictures.

Did you get it already? File size on disk is about 696MB. Filename “glis-nc.avi”. Here’s a mini-howto if you don’t already know. Instructions are for pc only:
1. Get a bt (bittorrent) client from degreez. Check for malware/virus/etc. It should be clean. Install.
2. Right-click on this link to download the torrent.
3. Once you’ve downloaded the torrent (file extension is “.torrent”, the bt client kicks in. Specify where you want the .avi to save.
4. Green means go. Depending on who’s seeding and how many peers there are, you should get the file in under 10 hours or less. I got mine in 7. It’s a slow internet day in Chi-town DX
5. Newbie tip – tweak your Upload rate to around 80kbps or higher. Your DL rate is proportional to your UL rate; rather the rate at which other users UL from you.
So ka? Hope this helps. The rip looks good. The sound’s barely audible, but then again that might just be my pc.
thanx…a co-worker actually explained bit torrent to me and i got the file alright. i havent used p2p stuff in a while…jus started again. anyhoo, the sound on mine sounds good. but after i installed new codecs (my current one was smearing the images), i lost the subtitles. wtf? ill fig it out. but thanx for the link.

i read that its just supposed show up in wmp or whichever program you use. and it did when i was just using the normal divx codec. but it was smearing the images, so i uninstalled those codecs and installed ffdshow, which fixed the playback, but the subtitles disappeared. *shrug* i couldnt get the subtitles to load correctly, so i just dl’d this program…> dsd, which did bring back the subtitles. its a shareware tho…so if you want to get it registered, ill leave that “up to you.”
