pre-holiday weekend

feelin’ | half a bagel-y

mmm…bagel. today’s bagel, c/o the diner near the bus stop, is quite good. all toasty on the outside, slightly firm on the inside, and a butt-load of cream cheese. rock. this past weekends plans surprising didnt poo on itself, b/c there were alot of chances for things to go poot. i took the path train to hoboken to meet fish and head up to edgewater to catch the last samurai. do you maybe think i used too many “to’s” in that sentence? whatever. i dont particularly like tom cruise, but i cant say i hated the movie. it was quite entertaining…even if it did scream braveheart+dances with wolves (with a side of gladiator), and tom cruise should have died but instead bags himself an asian hottie, and that the ending was painfully obvious half an hour into the movie. ah well…of particular note tho were the gorgeous costumes (the samurai armor especially), ken watanabe, tom cruises japanese (surprisingly), and ken watanabe again. honorable mentions go to the ninjas (they couldve been more badass…refer to red shadow), tom cruises grief, and tom cruises self-doubt. i felt your pain, dude.

after the movie, fish drove me back down to hoboken and i hopped the next train into manhattan. a few of us were planning on hitting the giant robot make-up party (the first one was caught in last weekends snowstorm), so i had basically planned around the movie time and the party following it immediately. betty, dora, and alice got to the party just as i did…very uncanny. it was moderately packed, but was missing a particular element of fun. the music was all over the place too, so we had about 3 rounds, snatched some copies of giant robot and cds, and headed out. me, betty, and alice cabbed it to k-town for some sul long tang…which as stated in prior entries, tastes extra-yum on cold nites.

and saturday…
i was woken up abruptly saturday morning by a call from dora. i was actually pretty surprised to see that it was almost 1 in the afternoon. ick! i wonder how long i wouldve slept if she hadnt called. dora dropped by b/c her laptop’s ethernet was pooing on itself, and i was going to take a look at it while she scoured the internet for holiday vacation packages for her family. her laptop would get a connection for all of 30 seconds before dying on itself…so after 2 hours of pathetic twiddling, i gave up. *shrug* we met up with mike to have tapas for din at la paella, then headed to the upper east side for anna and sally’s holiday party. they had wine and cookies up the wazoo, and i think more cookies sitting in the oven…craziness. there were no airing of grievances or feats of strength, but there were alot of cookies…word.
