shit, nothing beats a toasted bagel with cream cheese in the morning. well…possibly a lactaid pill, but i try not to think about those kinds of things. met up with fish at the manhattan mall friday nite after work. we were grabbing foody and then catching the movie millennium actress. our original plan was to hit up sazerac house for cajun, but that was changed to delta grill when we found out the movie was only showing at the loews underneath the virgin megastore times square. there were only 3 showings…1pm, 5pm, and 10pm, so we decided on the 10pm showing (duh). we then fig’d that we didnt have to eat so close to the theater and that we’d probably have 2 hours to burn after din…so we headed to kum gang san instead for some korean since fishs only had korean once…and well, it was right across the street. after stuffing ourselves stupid, we walked up to times square to bum til the movie time. i fig’d that a movie as good as millenium actress in such a limited release (read: one theater) would be hard to get into, so i reserved tix. a bit pointless. when all the attendants “packed” into the theater, the ten of us didnt put much of a dent into the seating. what the hell? it reminded me of the first time i saw spirited away (before it won an oscar and was re-released) and there were about 30 people in the theater…mostly families. hey, its their loss…the movie was excellent.
met up with marisol, dora, and alice saturday morning for some dim sum a go go. we headed to soho afterwards and checked out the new kid robot store. who knew they were doing so good?? kid robots tied with the minidisco crew, whom i still buy all my md goodness from…and kid robot was their (relatively) new outlet for kubricks, hk vinyl, etc. the store rocked, but im broke…which always seems to be the case. saturday nite was house party nite at missys. all kinds of former and current cornell architects showed up, with the occasional random non-cornellian or non-architect (or both). we drank on their balcony and made all kinds of disturbances. house parties rock.
