hmm…i let this movie slip under my nose. gothamist posted a link to the trailer for the upcoming charlie kaufman movie eternal sunshine of the spotless mind. directed by the crazy mofo michel gondry and starring jim carrey and kate winslet, its about a guy who tries to have the memories of his failed relationship erased from his mind. but as this is being done, his old memories of the girl begin to surface one by one, and deep in his mind he tries to prevent the erasure of his memories with her. the movie looks really coo…with a script by kaufman and direction by gondry, its not hard to imagine why.
Hmm, maayyybeeee.
Though I can hardly deny their respective overwhelming talents. Michael Gondry is not that great of a feature length film director. Anyone here remeber the film “Human Nature”? If you don’t, then surprise surprise — it was quite bad.

id be skeptical too…but human nature had a bleh script to begin with. i liked what i saw in the trailer, and im going by his overall curriculum vitae which include cibo matto, foo fighters, and my personal favorite (and habitually overlooked)…lucas with the lid off!
and everybodys allowed a false start. finchers first step was alien3…blech!
i also like the premise of the movie. different.
well. on second thought, the trailer does look super fun. i’ll cast my judgements aside until i see the end result.
