post-berfday remainders

i read somewhere that people do really perceive time faster as they get older, since each year successively becomes a smaller and smaller fraction of your overall lifetime.  i mean, when read aloud it sounds completely plausible…and even obvious.  so every year will fly right by faster and faster…super.

BERFDAY MONTH
this past birthday of mine, i decided to take it easy…unlike the prior ones, which were actually celebrated successively at en.  this year was a quiet one with a smaller group at alta, then at robataya…which also welcomed back gina and renee to nyc (albeit briefly).  this was followed up by a number of other mini dinners with various friends that found us eating at hide-chan, minca (hmm…lotsa ramen), and the fanciest one of them…11 madison park, courtesy of min who was visiting from toronto.  damn that was the fanciest lunch i’d ever had…there were two servers per dish they brought out.  one was a dedicated “sauce scooper/dabber”…what the deuce.

REMAINDERS
other remainders of the past few weeks include (and in no particular order or even relevance to each other) angela’s goodbye lasagna dinner…shes off to india, the arrival of my big fucking plasma (holy shit does it look massive in my tiny ny apartment), various dating shenanigans which still require their own journal entry (it’ll make for a funny first september post), ivor’s rooftop bbq to celebrate his new apartment in brookyln (oh shit i should put up photos of that when i get a chance), an LES art crawl with hosan, and the almighty scott pilgrim…which despite its awesomeness, has already fallen off the top 10 at the box office after a few weeks. to the general movie-watching populace of america…fuck you. fuck you up your fucking ass.
