backtracking to a few weeks ago…

MY MEMORY BLOWS
hum…cant really remember which day (wednesday?) i had dinner with g+r. we’d been craving soba-ya all week long, so that was an easy decision to make, followed by post-din tea and snacks at cha-an to wash down the yum noodles. i think i did other stuff during the week, but my memorys failed (again…sigh), so ill just skip to saturday.

PATTY IS FAT
itd actually been a while since id seen my sister. i hadnt seen her since before i left for amsterdam in june…which was coincidentally around the time she called me to let me know that she was pregnant. so saturday was the first time in a while that we all made our way back home to jersey. i figured in that time, she got a wee fatter. im sure there will be people who say “hey, shes pregnant!“. but really, shes fatter. it was also the first time i had a chance to talk to my dad about buying an apartment. the market will supposedly go to shit in a few months, but he told me to start looking now…eek!

BED BATH
i shopped for some domestic accoutrements sunday. the old bath mat was kinda rotten. that is all. fun!

BO-RA!
i got an unexpected call monday nite for dinner…bo-ra was back in nyc! yay! betty was in town for business. her boss, the korean artist do ho suh, was setting up a gallery showing in chelsea. and she just got off work, so we all met at max’s for some italian, followed up with drinks at 10 degrees. betty was the same betty…like she was stored in some kind of korean hyperbaric chamber for the last three(?) years. yea…hyperbaric. word.

interlude
was writing a post always this tiring? *whew* cohesive narratives are overrated…

OPEN HOUSE
the space between monday and saturdays kinda fuzzy. so ill assume i did nothing. saturday tho…yea saturday was fun. i headed north to meet up with g+r for an open house in east harlem. open houses=mad fun! like seriously…youre roaming thru apartments that will most likely not look like yours when you move in. the apartments were pretty nice. price range tho…eh, i need to talk to daddy. keep looking…keep looking.

DO HO SUH
i headed over to the lehman maupin gallery saturday nite for the do ho suh exhibit betty had been diligently working on all week. the shit was actually pretty cool. kinda freaky, and obscenely meticulous…but very cool. i dont even like modern art, but his work definitely piqued my interest. the art schmoozing was followed up with a big hearty korean meal at…er, some place in k-town. hmm…it wasnt one of my usual spots, so i cant really put my finger on the name of the restaurant. whatever…it was good.

PS TUTORIAL
i gave photoshop lessons to di sunday afternoon actually…what. i think im a harsh disciplinarian…if my work experiences and tutoring sessions are any indication. gosh im a dick…who knew? as long as they came away with a better understanding of the program, hey…i did my part eh. it was made all the better too with a follow-up dinner at setagaya. i was craving it…it was inevitable. <3.

HIGH SCHOOL REUNION
whew…how many days left? fucks sake its already thursday. whups. i actually had gotten back in touch with an old high school friend when facebook started blowing up. so monday we finally got to meet up in tribeca for some noshing. it was kinda interesting having to actually work around her schedule pertaining to her kid. my friends and i…we live in some kind of warp bubble where people dont get married or have kids, so this was all new to me to be honest. but we hit up a nearby vietnamese restaurant and got to catch up on oh….nearly ten years worth of stories. thats alot of stories.

SCRATCHER
and today was drinkies at scratcher for bo-ra eh. woot bo-rage!

RANDOM THOUGHT
ive seen one of the pace twins twice in the last few weeks while walking to work in the morning. name dropping, oh noes!

k im seriously pooped. i started this post yesterday, got tired and bored, saved it, and had to finish it up today. its 12:30…good night eh.
