whew…furniture shopping is tiring. since im moving to my new apartment this weekend (woo!) i fig’d i needed to pick up some essentials. namely…a new couch, a bed, and some other stuff that ill wait to get later. first and foremost is the bed and couch. i looked thru craigs list for the mattresses since no, im not worried about “over-use” and “stains” (u sick ppl). i contacted this coo girl about her mattress…b/c she was advertising it for $120 with a featherbed. im all over that. i made an appt to take a look at 8:30…so i head off to sofa shop with fonz before then. i had decided that id be the one to lay down money for a sofa…fonz would prolly cover the other living room accoutrements. we look thru some places north of union sq…not bad, but none that got my attention. we then headed down to soho and ended up at crate+barrel. they have nice furniture! a bit on the yuppy side…but whatever, i actually found a sofa id be willing to lay down a considerable amount of money for. ill prolly head back today to place an order. afterwards i headed up to murray hill to check out the mattress. she let me bounce on her bed a bit (must be odd having strangers jus stroll in and hop up and down on their bed…tho itll technically soon be my bed) anyhoo…the mattress was coo…the geese down featherbed was ridiculous! once i lay on my extra comforter too (as another feather layer), ill prolly jus go into a coma.
