i finally converted from minidiscs to mp3 players today after half a decade of loyal md-ness. the whole idea of mds was only fun if you had people to swap mds with. but since nobody i know used mds anymore, and md support in the states is absolute suck (i still luv you minidisco), i couldnt bring myself to get the new sony hi-mds. and no i didnt get an ipod, which admittedly are quite pretty and shiny. i needed more than what the ipod offered, so i bought an iaudio. slim, shiny, rockin’.

once you rocked it a while let me know what the battery life is like,i know they have that long lasting one,but i needs the 40gb 😉
wow.. you’re hardcore. i gave up on minidisc a long time ago. it’s too bad it never took off here. and minidisco is awesome!
choices are always good. i didnt like the fact that people just reflexively picked the ipod. as pretty as they are, theyre missing some features i wanted (encoder, line-in, etc). as for the battery life, cnet tested the m3 (standard) at closer to 11 hours than 14.
and mileena, i was currently on my second-gen md. i still have a stack of blank mds…bugger!

wow, that’s an a pretty broad generalization. it’s a pretty damn good mp3 player even without the encoder, line-in, etc.
oh i know…im not poo-ing on its qualities. the ipods not number one by mistake. but at its current saturation level, some people just assume its as good as it gets. i personally wont be using itunes anytime soon, so the iaudios superior in almost all regards.
Heh, I still use my MD player to record voice over and sounds. I don’t think I’ve used one for listening to music for like 4 years.
I have a stereo that also have a MD player in it, I don’t think I’ve ever listened to an MD with it… So sad, I used to think MDs was going to be the shit 🙂
agreed. if you’re not going to use iTunes, you’re not tapping into the most useful aspects. iTunes is probably the most well made app i’ve ever seen and used.
This is definitely the player I’d get. I just don’t go for apple’s candy colored ipods. I don’t want pastel, I want black or silver.
not trying to promote the purchase of the iPod mini (overpriced and not enough hd space), but the mini is actually available in sliver. :p
