i need to find those movie critics who trashed the matrix revolutons (wantonly…not explicitly, as there were points for criticism) and bitchslap them stupid. what the fuck is wrong with you?! matrix revolutions was a “visual tour d’force of groundbreaking proportions” (ive always wanted to write that). jk, it wasnt groundbreaking, but it was brilliant to watch. the first matrix was the groundbreaking original, the second the overly-hyped media juggernaut (i personally loved it), and the third the rollercoaster finale. the movie is in my opinion the most entertaining of the three…due mostly to the lite dialogue (ill admit…there was little dialogue) and the siege of zion. the entire sequence is amazing. just as youre sitting in your seat with your eyes super-epoxied to the screen as the apu’s are taking down thousands of sentinels…and youre thinking to yourself “this is some crazy shit“, the actual sentinel “horde” comes pouring thru the breached walls and youre going, “jesus h. christ in a chicken basket!” ill probably puke when i see that sequence on the imax.
spoilers in the continued reading…

oh yes, and as for that old link to the purported synopsis of revolutions, it was actually 60%-70% accurate. it was correct with specific plot points…such as the offspring of the 2 programs, the hell club (mostly), and the machines jacking neo into the matrix (mostly)…while its plot progression was wrong, and its ending completely different.
when i first read the synopsis, i actually thought it was quite good. and now after seeing the movie, i have to admit that i liked the theoretical ending of the synopsis more than the actual movies conclusion. the idea that the kid was the actual one was coo in the sense that since he was the only person ever to self-actualize (according to the animatrix), that he was the true manipulator of the matrix. even neo…the purported one, couldnt self-actualize…he needed the red pill. neo could have instead been the herald of the one…who has the power to awaken the true one. i also liked the fact that the end of the synopsis version was just the beginning, as the kid “becomes” the architect and begins to bend and shape the matrix to his will. because otherwise, in the movie the kid is just a glorified intern, and his entire back-story becomes moot. as such, the movie is out there and everything else becomes irrelevant. matrix revolutions on imax this saturday…rock!
oh…and woody allens filming a new movie in my neighborhood. whoopie *twirls index finger* – update – jk…will ferrell, amanda peet, and chloë sevigny are apparently in this movie. maybe theyll feel like hanging around the area. woo!

Woo, good to read something positive on Revolutions 🙂 Felt the same way as you watching the battle scenes. Your like “OMG all those sentinels”, and then when you realise that was just a 1st wave and you see the actual army your like well, you feel like they would 🙂
word…i was starting to get the feeling the new “in” was to trash matrix. everybodys entitled to their opinions, but they can all eat shit anyway.
not to jump on the trashing bandwagon but i personally enjoyed #2 more. revolutions has it’s moments, that’s undeniable. i’m just talking overall.
def want to watch 2 and 3 back to back to get a better experience. they don’t seem like complete movies in thier own rights. eh, still better than half the crap out there.
I watched 2 just before I left, so it felt like a natural thing when 3 started, like a 2hr ad break 🙂
You know what I truly liked better about the 3rd over the 2nd? During the 2nd there were times when I just got bored. like the first battle with the million Smiths, or that damn architect scene that had the whole theater fidgeting and checking their watches. I think the whole neo/trinity/morpheous kicking ass thing was starting to get overdone, so I’m glad there was less of it in the 3rd. What there was though was really well done I thought and not drawn out.
The siege of Zion was definitely awesome. I think I just sat in awe the whole time…
random question – so what happened to all the other ships? they were saying something about every last ship being needed for the defense of Zion, but then there was no mention of them later.
i think when they referred to bane triggering the emp early, they said that all their ships were destroyed by the machines…since they were at the front lines. not sure tho.
and yea…i agree. revolutions was like no-bullshit everybody kicking everybodys ass. it was even evident in the dialogue. while the merovingian was going on and on, trinitys just like…”oh fuck this,” and starts kicking people in the head.
Ah – that would make sense. Kind of a cop out though, since I was looking forward to some sort of ship battle. But the APUs more than made up for it. what does APU stand for anyways? did i miss that too? armored penius unit?
penius…thats great. apu stands for armoured personnel unit. check out the matrix website under the revolutions section. they actually have a section devoted just to the apu. very coo.
damn – i spelled penis wrong. what kind of guy am I?
a guy who likes penius’. greg, is there something you wanna tell me?
