another quickie too. id read about how there were images circulating of the live-action bumblebee from the upcoming transformers movie…but by the time i got to the news, most of the pics had been yanked…so i didnt bother posting about it. but then i found one remaining pic…gizmodo still had one pic up of bumblebee. hes doing some kind of squat, or maybe he’s in mid-transformation. but its still badass nonethless. woot!

the lake house
i came across this purely by accident over the weekend. remember back when i mentioned that they were remaking the korean movie il mare with keanu reeves and sandra bullock? shit does time fly, because i came across the movies release date (now called the lake house) just by accident while i was surfing the net. its coming out june 16th! theres even a trailer up! omg! yea its potentially cheese romance…with keanu reeves. but *sigh* i feel the need to see it. just to see how it turned out, because the original il mare was pretty good. it wont be the same without ji-hyun jun…but meh, we’ll see…

look at that…all work and no play means i miss good stuff like this. new teaser for the simpsons movie…woot! all this new simpsons news (hehe, missed that too) and media recently means the movie isnt too far off…finally! well, if you consider a year and some odd months not “too far off” (the movies set to come out july 27th, 2007). its a quicky teaser, but its the simpsons, so it automatically rocks.

only wednesday and holy shit, a post. the shite weathers not really doing its part to promote the whole going out and shit, but whatever. after modelling my first complex (and swishy) chair today at work, i made my way down to the angelika to catch brick with jess and company. that movie is seriously odd. it was definitely interesting, but skirts a fine line between satire and seriousness. all the high schoolers talk like their philosophy majors, all the while coloring everything they say with their weird slang (they gave use booklets before the movie to help translate english-to-english). still equal parts funny (godfather meets suburbia) and dead serious. im not sure my high school was anything remotely as hazardous as theirs.
for personal reference only: drinks at von afterwards, then some righteous tacos at las equinas at the corner of lafayette and centre. good stuff yo.

bwahaha…i dont think ive seen something as coo as this in a long while. its a live-action version of the simpsons intro some people made for fun (i think). and jah, i realize it might be a bit old, but i just came across it today…so its new to me! its spot-on yo (with a european flavor)…bart with the chalkboard, homer at the plant, even bleeding-gums murphys in it! very coo.
oh, and in related news…harry shearer (rev lovejoy, flanders, etc) briefly mentioned that they had started recording dialogue for the simpsons movie already…woot! still waiting anxiously for that…
edit | according to a cnet article, it looks like the intro is actually an “official” remake of the simpsons intro…made by the sky one network to promote new episodes of the simpsons and eventually finding its way onto the web. word.

v, full metal, and seven swords
ah…i like how posts have slowly wittled down to about one or two a week now. gosh, i remember when i spammed posts 5 times a day…the golden years of blogging. i suppose now it just seems everything sounds repetitive. i need to take more trips then. more pretty pics=more entries. and er, things like that.
this past weekend was all about movie watching. fish came into the city to chill satty afternoon. dim sum was the original plan…those got tossed out the window pretty fast. then maybe brunch, but he got stuck on the path trains. so we ended up just getting snacks at cosi and chilled out to 2 rounds of chess…splitting it evenly. the second game was pretty heated, and actually caused us to get to the theater later than we’d hoped…oops. we had tix for v for vendetta at the imax…word! but we got there about half an hour before the start and ended up in the third row. not awful or anything, and we were at least in the center. they just need to make the first 5 rows or so recliners…or something. neck…pain…er. so first and foremost, v is NOT an action film. the trailers and stuff will make you think it is, but its not…its a thriller! and a pretty good one too. i dunno why alan moores such a dill when it comes to his property. i think the wachowskis did a pretty good job translating the graphic novel to the movies. and on the imax especially…word.
i spent the rest of the weekend chilling in front of my tv watching movies i picked up from otaku den on satty…the full metal alchemist movie and seven swords. full metal rocked of course (one of the best animes out right now). and i think im liking seven swords alot so far too, tho i didnt really know what to expect. the last time i gave tsui hark my money, i got the poop that was zu warriors…a fun excercise in how to make a pretty movie with an incomprehensible plot. hello, i am a warrior with a funky weapon! now im possessed! omg, now im flying to a crazy cave! and so on and so forth. anyhoo, i turned my attention to gaming halfway thru the movie, and now nothing makes sense. so i think id better rewind a bit…
