first some random movie news. well, not really “news” as coo trailers ive seen lately. first up is a decidedly red band trailer for kevin smith’s zack and miri make a porno movie, with seth rogen and elizabeth banks (the horny bookstore girl from 40 year old virgin). dont worry, the trailer has no boobies or ass, just alot of swearing. like, fucking alot.
hey…more apatow alumn pairings! another coo trailer just out is nick & norah’s infinite playlist, with michael cera and kat dennings (the daughter from 40 year old virgin). kids running around manhattan…wooha!

watchmen trailer
huh, its been a while since ive posted anything about movies eh? ah well, the times…they are a’changin’. but ive been waiting for the watchmen to come out for sometime now, both because its an excellent graphic novel and its directed by 300’s zack snyder. and hey now theres a new trailer, yay! the graphic novel by alan moore was one of the first to take seriously the idea of superheroes in everyday life (even if most of them werent “superheroes” per se, just vigilantes in costumes). and the trailer itself looks pretty sweet.

haha…i thought that smashing pumpkins song sounded familiar, but not quite. it was apparently written 10 years ago for the batman and robin soundtrack. bat nipples lolz! actually, the version used in the trailer is the remix of “the end is the beginning is the end”, called “the beginning is the end is the beginning”. anyway, er…thought that was funny. moving on…

the more i see these new trailers for iron man, the more im thinking…damn, maybe iron man was destined to be a movie. or maybe favreau’s just brilliant…or maybe its robert downey jr whos brilliant. in any case, the new trailer is all kinds of rock. check the “suiting up” portion too. is it an homage to the starcraft 2 trailer as tychus is suited into his armor? coincidence? or the other way around? hmmm…

random cool celebrity sighting…and these arent even that common. except for woody allen maybe once or twice each year around tompkins square park. but thats not exactly anything to write home about. but whatever, we were headed to lunch today and actually ran into ang lee just outside talking to a crowd…woots! he was most likely screening lust, caution in the technicolor screening room. its actually weird that we dont see more actors, directors, whatever swinging by for screenings. meh. anyhoo, he looked busy. so i made like a fanboy, snapped a few pics, and then went and got stuffed at daddy’o’s.

huh, i gotta be honest. i didnt know what to make of jon favreau’s upcoming iron man movie when i first read about it. ive never been that big of a fan of the comics, and marvels been pretty much pooping chili out the last few years. but i liked favreau’s work, and robert downey jr seemed like a coo choice for tony stark…so i wouldve given it a chance. and now that the new trailers out, i gotta say…it looks pretty sweet. its got my attention now, so lets hope the movie isnt another shitfest like fantastic four, x-men 3, spider-man 3, ghost rider, etc etc…
robotech movie!
dude did this come out of left field. i was just perusing ign per usual when i came across this random article about how maguire may not be in future spider-man movies (oh noes!) and will instead be producing and possibly starring in a robotech movie instead. k…say what? did they really just kind of mention that in passing in an article talking about no more spider-man? do they actually understand how much bigger this story really is than another garbage spider-man movie?? fucks sake, screw spider-man…woot robotech! holy fuck!
ok so in the article, it discusses how maguire (finally) acquired the rights to robotech, and hes gonna make it into a big summer blockbuster-type movie…wooha! i was wondering when the influence of transformers would start to permeate hollywood. more big fighting robot movies pleeeease!
