first revenge of the sith reviews, yay! most had good things to say. actings still stiff and average, but everything else seems to rock. even the story rocks, hooray! theres less than a month to go before the beginning of the end…so im there. you’ve come a long way baby.

shit, its already tuesday. monday just kinda squeaked by…or maybe i just didnt notice it as my eyes burned away from all the allergens. argh!

the weekend was pretty chill, as is the usual byline for the last 6 months worth of weekends. it was chill, i marinated, blah blah blah. er, yea…met up with fishy satty nite to catch a digital showing of the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy at edgewater. we missed that showing (oops) and caught a 10pm non-digital showing instead…along with a full nathans famous snack tray. the movie is definitely rock. details of the book, etcs pretty fuzzy in my mind, so i wont even bother with comparisons. in fact, i dont even really give a shit about faithful adaptions, etc…because any fan of cinema has long known that direct adaptions never work. that, and given the fact that the hitchhikers book itself was an adaption, its not too big a deal. the characters as they were in the movie rocked. martin freeman as arthur dent mightve been a bit more aggressive than i had imagined, but everybody was pretty coo overall. especially the whale…the poor whale.

something i didnt know til the rolling credits, the “guide” in the movie was created by the rockmasters of shynola.

weekend nothings and superman

per usual, i didnt do much this past weekend. partially because of the odd spring weather (40 degrees?) and partially because of no reason whatsoever. so instead of talking about what i did (nothing) last weekend, ill point out this coming weekend. big’ole family gathering this saturday, with hopefully a showing of hitchhikers guide squeezed in before then. the start of the biking season will probably have to wait another week or so…after this one and hopefully when the damn weather warms up again.

SUPER UNRELATED
so while im at it, i figured that id also toss this in here. its pretty interesting…a pic of the brand new superman. no more iron-on “S” insignia, and the fabrics got some funky quilted bounty quicker-picker-upper texture to it. i dunno what to think of it honestly…its semi-classic supes. but i was never much of a fan of the classic supes, so i wouldve been in the (admittedly small) minority that wouldnt mind a bit of a modern update. beyond a new insignia and belt buckle that is. anywho…its interesting to say the least. its been a very long time since theres been a superman on the big screen…

argh…allergy season! die fucking pollen, i hate you. its kind of vicious irony that going down into the subway stations actually a reprieve. smell…whew. i havent really been posting much these days because, er…i havent really felt like it. ha…winter time i blame the weather, so spring time i just dont even bother with an excuse. so this is playing catch-up in a sense, a random sampling of things ive been reading in no particular order. even the older news isnt really that old.

3 new tv spots for star wars eps3 are up…and they look pretty coo. 2 have some new footage, while one is a recombination of older footage. the movies a month away…holy shit.

AEON FLUX
the new aeon flux movie sites up and is pretty coo. the flash intro actually bombed firefox a second ago, so this is the second time im writing this. grr. coo pic of charlize theron as aeon, but not much content. ah well, still coo.

SUPER-DUPER
ign has a new pic of the new superman, brandon routh. hes all decked out in dork clark kent gear, so its not super super. still coo tho. and there was an older pic of kate bosworth as lois lane too i came across. hmm, where’d it go? woo, got it. kate bosworth as a brunette lois lane. oddly enuf, she doesnt seem as cute as a brunette.
and in related news too, super hero hype had the first images of the new superman shield. its got that interesting inverse twist in the center…like a moebius strip almost. nice and subtle, i likey.

bewitched

hmm…i think its gonna be a pretty quiet day. not much to bring up today. tho im currently watching the new trailer for the movie remake of bewitched. i didnt even know they were making a movie on bewitched, and with nicole kidman and will ferrell! who knew? i still remember watching the original bewitched as a kid when it played on nick-at-nite. ah, old school.

the movies not actually a remake, and ill admit its pretty clever. its actually about a movie star (ferrell) whos intent on remaking the original 60s bewitched, and casts an unknown (kidman) for the role of samantha who ends up being a real witch. the trailers pretty funny. i mean c’mon, its will ferrell. the movie also stars michael caine, shirley maclaine, jason schwartzman, and david alan grier. wow, left field. for real.

crazy citibank

citibank must really want to poop on me. every few months, i get a letter from them congratulating me on another limit increase. in citibank-speak, this is something along the lines of, “oooh…look, money! spend me, accrue debt.” they decided yesterday to boot my limit up over 10k now, which is on one hand relatively low for a card ive had since 1996, but on the other hand, ive never minded a modest credit line. what am i going to spend $10,000 on? bad citibank, bad…

WORLD OF THE WARS
its friday…i like fridays. this week has admittedly been more relaxed than the past few weeks, but fridays are still welcome nonetheless. one notable (movie) thing for today…a new war of the worlds teaser trailer, and its pretty nice. you finally get a glimpse (albeit a brief one) of a war machine. go spielberg, go!

latino review (via aicn) snagged pics of alot of movie posters from showest. theyre pretty coo, but theres one that stuck out (of course)….aeon flux. stencil tag on a wall…its ok i guess. nothing terrible. the other posters are for movies ive never heard of (save a couple). nothing else worth noting…except maybe into the blue, if only because it has jessica alba and ashley scott in bikinis…
