i went around reading blogs recently since ive found all this time to procrastinate with. since u kno, this is a whole “community” or whatever. well, people pretend its a community even tho its actually jus self-glorification. anyhoo…after reading a shitload of blogs out there (since theyre the thing to do now), ive realized that ppl actually write about some of the most boring shit out there…literally minute-to-minute details of their absolutely mundane lives. someone gets up at 7am and takes a shower, then cooks themselves breakfast, then proceeds to fart, then plays like it was their dog, then goes outside, then comes back into the kitchen. holy fuck, thats insane. alot of ppl out there have interesting lives, and in turn have interesting blogs. but even more ppl have absolutely boring lives, yet choose to write about said boring lives in a blog. why?? the least they could do is to add colorful pics to supplement (supplant?) their otherwise sad existences. it works for me…

me personally, i write about random shite that i think is entertaining…the occasional fun weekend, noteworthy events, etc. i basically write about the fun shit and overlook the boring shit, since this makes my life seem like one continuous party (hoowa!). this is of course really jus a physical repository for my memories, since my own memory is absolutely sucky (did i remember to turn off the stove?)

some blogs i read (even tho i dont kno them…hi!)

> gothamist – more a professional blog than a personal one
> e.super high five mega pants – coolest name ever…friend of a friend
> hipstomp – u dont need pics if your writing kicks ass

no, neither my work or home computers were infected. but ppl in this article make me laugh.

I just don’t see why, after spending thousands of dollars for a computer, I should have to devote all this time to taking care of it,” he said. “No one told us it’d be a full-time job to have a computer. We just wanted to be able to e-mail our kids at college.” – maintenance, asscrack. good thing his kids grew themselves up and sent themselves off to college too.

I’ve been getting these pop-ups on my new computer’s screen saying there was a patch that was downloaded and did I want to install it now,” said Kathy Greeves, a schoolteacher. “I thought it could be an attempt to hack my computer, or give it a virus, so I always click ‘no.’ I thought I was being smart.” – too smart for the system.

current selection | bjork – hyperballad (fluke remix)
feelin’ | double yay!

when my pst entry was selected to appear today on their site, coudal.com sent me an email to inform me. even tho the email was signed by one anthony, the return address was for kevin guilfoile. im like…wait…that sounds familiar. turns out that its the same kevin guilfoile who writes the madelyn murray o’hair short stories (and others) on the morning news. ok, so it actually states that he’s a creative director at coudal in his bio, but i never actually read his bio, ok? anyhoo, i actually went ahead and replied to tell him i enjoyed his madelyn stories…and i got a reply!

…Thanks for the kind words about my Morning News stuff. You made my day. Another Madelyn installment is scheduled for September, actually.
And your PsT volley is outstanding. Good luck.
Best,
Kevin

woo! *ego begins to inflate*

anyhoo…check out the madelyn murray o’hair in hell stories on the morning news…good reads (that is, if you don’t take heaven and hell too seriously). and thanx to my roomie fonz for originally directing me to the stories.

m3ntal note: amino calpis tastes like water! no wonder its not bad for you. grr. also of note, calpis soda is not good for you, but lemon/lime calpis soda is. and they taste the same! go fig. but the lemon/lime calpis is also harder to track down. can’t remember whether i found it at jasmart or sunrise. er. while we’re on the topic of do’s and donts…those gyozas in the fancy colored bags? day-lee i think? they suck…the skin is like pudding and the filling is mediocre. yokohama gyozas (the ones that come in 4 trays of 12) use a better skin, but their fillings bleh! top choice is and always will be yokohama chinatown (which i can only find at m2m). tastes jus like the ones my mom makes! so unless she intends on coming into the city in the near future and making a big batch for me, yokohama chinatown gyoza’s the shiz.

funny how yesterdays topic was how shaolin soccer was being shown in cantonese. upon a friends recommendation, i bought the korean movie il mare yesterday. mmm…ji-hyun jun. im all excited and shit…so after i get back from the gym and take a shower, i cook up some tortellini and pop in the movie. as the movie starts, ji-hyun suddenly starts spouting mandarin! im like, stupid default settings. i go into the audio menu and change the settings. ni hao….di ma lei….ni hao….di ma lei. its only in mandarin and cantonese? argh!! who does that? the least they couldve done was to include the original korean audio! so i spent all day today running from dvd store to dvd store. kims video had the same version that i had…and the 2 stores down in chinatown didnt even have it. grr. so now im jus going to order it over the internet. buggers.

anyhoo…so im back in union square and im about to head over to catch a bus in front of the palladium. as im about to cross 14th, i hear someone holler my name. im like, eh? i turn around and shit, i ran right by grace, my old roma cohort! we’d kept in touch a little after graduation, but we more or less jus lost contact with each other b/c we both sucked like that. we talk as we walk over to virgin, where grace was meeting dre, another cornellian. we talk, trade numbers, and then split. ok…so hopefully this time we’ll actually do the keeping in touch thing.

we’re of course not done shopping…so we’ve still been roaming the net for things we want. nothing we can afford, of course…but shit, i need this stuff…
