current selection | cowboy bebop – wo qui non coin
feelin’ | okily

ah…thursday already. its thursday, right? went shopping last nite after work for various household accoutrements…then hit up jasmart for some groceries. (6 pack of ramune…woo!) went back home and headed straight to the bathroom, where i proceeded to destroy my scalp with bleach. fun! my hair was looking pretty dark these days, so i thought id kick it back over to the lighter side. oochies…tingly sensations. usually i do 2 runs…the initial bleach, then um…”fixes.” i mean, c’mon, im doing this by myself! with a 3-sided mirror now tho…wow, everythings even! no patches, or stripes, or my personal favorite, “white-outs.” i hate those. lounged around my room afterwards and popped in “attack the gas station“…hoo, those crazy korean kids.

spent the better part of the morning at the goldman sachs project in jersey city. shit, is that place big. i was there to take shots of the curtain wall…pretty swish. jason, the pm who took me there, treated me to some malay in chinatown afterwards too. rock. so lessee…the agenda for the rest of this week. din+drinks (?) with marisol and alice today. d+b party tomorrow with the pho-meister. and possib-ly the mini-gr party saturday. yay!

80 degree weather + 81% humidity = no. i was just walking around east village b4. i decided around 3:45pm that i was leaving work early to go take some photos, since the forecast for the rest of the week is as follows: scattered shit, scattered, thunder shit, scattered shit. i thought that the sooner the better since our catalog is due in less than 2 weeks. ick! so i trot over to the cardozo law school to get some photos of their lobby. i talk to the front desk, and after a few minutes talking to him and him talking on the phone with some facilities person, the conclusion is that i cant take photos unless i come with our project manager jonathan, or i call the facilities manager. blech. as the security guy’s writing me the number for the manager, i get on the phone with jonathan to see what he can do. im asking him about the contractor, scope of work, time frame, blah blah blah. oh yea, and im taking hip shots with my digital camera too. jonathans going, uh…yea, i told u that last week….yea, im going back wednesday, etc. i get about three good shots and run off. fuck permissions. i trot over to new school next. now with the lobby the way it is, and me looking like a student and all, i couldve just fired some shots off and skip away. but no, i do the dumb thing and ask the front desk again. this time i get to talk to some deaf head of security who refuses to let me take photos unless they do a background check on me. because apparently too many terrorists have been running around as asians with cameras asking to take photos of their lobby. i try some spy shots from the exterior (all i needed was the main foyer) but the glare off the glass doors sucked. *shrug* anyhoo, bollocks to them. next stop goldman sachs. theyre gonna make me wear a hard hat and crush my hair…those bastards.

weekend excursion

current selection | k-os – superstar pt. zero
feelin’ | pooped

its monday. blechies. sunday was fun, which i suppose makes monday all that much worse. *shrug* got up around 11:00 since i was meeting pho for lunch in chinatown. the sun was bright out, so even tho the weather reports had said it would be mostly sunny (which actually changed to partly cloudy) i fig’d that i should head out early to take photos while it was still clear out. the L was kapoot…so i bus’d it over to 7th ave and then onto the 123 down to houston. took some nice shots (clear skies and the sun was directly overhead) and then headed towards mott. i get a call later from pho saying that meeting times been pushed back from 1:30 to 1:45ish. super. i head back to the store zakka to continue my browsing from last weekend. i wanted to get some old issues of idn, but ended up picking up a fix figuration gundam wing redesigned by hajime katoki instead. these models are ridiculously detailed. anyhoo, i get another call from pho again…meeting times been pushed to 2:00 and we’ve somehow combined lunches with alice and terence. okily then…all good. we (eventually) meet up and head to shanghai village. alice, being the clan mother, orders everything for us in perfect chinese while the rest of us jus nod. after lunch, we strolled back to zakka to browse, and then headed over to w.broadway to shop. we split up for the afternoon and i came back to play with my toys. woot! little wingy gets to stand next to his bro the msia aile strike and his big bro the mg rx-178 mk.ii. we meet up again for din at sapporo east on 10th. everybody got curry and katsu….i went with sashimi and shared gyoza. yea yea…its sunday, but i was craving sashimi. it was a bit chewier than it should be, but whatever…i sashimi. is the month over yet? im craving go.

feelin’ | relaxed

according to the weather reports, todays partly cloudy with hi’s of 82. perfect weather for photo-taking. but…sunday’s supposed to be mostly sunny with a hi of 83. even better weather for photo-taking…woo! so photo-takings been post-poned til tomorrow. more time today then to do nothing, and more of nothing.

last nite was my first movie outing (to cinemas) in a looong time. me, alice, and sally met up to go watch pirates of the caribbean. orlando bloom for them…keira knightley for me. yum. we get to ua: union square and our showing (8:15) is sold out. buggers! so we trek up to the 42nd st e-walk (i never liked that name…i keep thinking of small furry creatures with spears) and grab tix for a 9:15 showing. 2 words…it rocked big booty. 2 more words…holy shit keira knightley’s hot. not that alice and sally noticed, they seemed to be distracted. hmm. afterwards we started looking for places to eat din. we wandered around hells kitchen for a while…eventually making our way to the delta grill. actually…while standing outside of delta grill, we were deciding between delta grill and yakitori taisho on st. marks. so we flipped a coin…heads, delta. well delta’s kitchen turned out to be closed, so we’re like….ok then, taisho. decision-making made easy.

we’re of course not done shopping…so we’ve still been roaming the net for things we want. nothing we can afford, of course…but shit, i need this stuff…

yama-ing

current selection | goldie – state of mind
feelin’ | hungry

hmm…how many weeks left til im allowed back at yokochos and go? the whole idea behind my month long self-imposed blacklisting was that id try other restaurants, so yesterday i finally made my way to yama. yea…i kno, the whole world and their mothers already been. but i hadnt. well…not the one up near irving plaza anyhoos. marisol called me up after work to see about some good din. we headed to yama and got seated within 5 minutes…woo. i was feeling pretty hungry (only had breakfast), so i ordered a large bowl of chirashi and a spicy tuna roll to um…wash it down with. marisol ordered a variety of rolls…her unagi looked super good. afterwards we went hunting for happy-hour margaritas. i couldve sworn id seen signs for happy-hour margaritas at solas, so we headed there. apparently i was hallucinating. we got margaritas anyhoo…jus not at happy hour prices. poo. afterwards we went for frozen lychee martinis at angels share…yum. since their frozen margaritas are ridiculously good, i’d always wondered whether there was even alcohol in them. so marisol inquired with the bartender….citron and apple liquer. no shitting…

addendum

ok, someone plz tell me the aforementioned website was a joke. i went thru some more of their pages, and theres far too much stupidity to not be a joke. i thought the landover church was a pretty good and (initially) convincing web page…but this one even goes further along its path of diminishing brain cells. they even have a page dedicated to denouncing landover. if it isnt a joke, its beyond frightening.

creationism rocks!

current selection | lhb – no transmission
feelin’ | quite entertained

shannan sent along whats got to be the greatest article/website i’ve ever read about christians and creationism. before i get into this super-fun-time of an article, lemme take the time for a little disclaimer. even tho i christian-bash, i like christians. theres some fine ppl out there that are coincidentally christian. marisols christian. my sisters christian. shit, i used to be christian (southern baptist…word!) but with any major religion, theres bound to be a vocal minority (or majority…shit, i dunno) that do nutty things. so dun get me wrong, i like christians…its jus that alot of you are dumb. oh, and another disclaimer is that contrary to popular belief, i equally belittle all major organized religions. im more of a supporter of enlightenment and personal religion.

ok…pc disclaimer outta the way…here goes. so my co-worker shannan sends me this great web page about a baptist creation science fair. so you’re thinking to yourself, what the fuck do you do for a baptist creation science fair? why…things like, “my uncle isnt a monkey“, “pokemon prove evolutionism is false (sic)“, “thermodynamics of hell fire“, and my personal favorite, “women were designed for homemaking.” that last one made me bust out laughing. my supervisor jus went “shhh!” shhhush you! damn…where to even begin with this one. normally i always find ample things to point out and beat to death, but in the face of so much stupidity, im just at a loss. i mean, do they really have stupidity fairs like this in america? i had to double-check whether this was a parody site. but not finding any incriminating evidence to indicate otherwise…it seems there really are whole fairs of stupidity out there. quality shit like a girl sticking water, a vitamin, and a charcoal briquet in a jar overnite, then praying to god not to make any miracles…then finding out nothing happens to prove that life cant come from random elements. congratulations you little dong, you’ve just single-handedly discredited the entire field of life sciences. you will be going far in life. apparently she’s also never left pizza in the fridge for extended periods of time…thats science. seriously, how does stupidity run so rampant in this country? i mean, christianity isnt relegated to america…so why does america get the stupidified variant? this is utterly embarassing…whole masses of kids are gonna grow up stupid with biblically-stunted cognitive skills and suspect scientific reasoning.
