u kno…the whole blackout thing was prolly a good thing for the collective fatness of nyc. i mean…it got ppl outta the apt and walking, right? ill bet u ppl from 500 years ago could kick all our asses.
i decided to get some sleep thursday nite during the blackout, since there were no flashlights in my apt (except for our cell phones). but since all the windows were open and i could hear all the partying outside, i got jealous and headed out to look for the parties. after heading down to the street level, up a block, back to my building, into the back patio, and then up to the roof…i couldnt find shit and gave up. grr. where was all the hooting and drinking coming from?? mysteries….
friday i got up and decided that i wanted to bike. so i took a screwdriver and hammer and oh-so-gently fixed the shocks on my bike (theyd been outta commission for 2 months). i headed out on my bike and made my way up to central park for some relaxing non-electricity-dependent fun. actually…by the time i got up to midtown, they had already gotten their power back. bizatches! anyhoo…i biked up, hit the great lawn, and talked on the phone with ags in cali for a while. fish called me up to see what i was up to…whether i wanted to get outta nyc for the day and go tear thru some trails. im like…woo! so i take the path out to newark and we head off to tear thru the trails of the tourne. we have din at panera’s and catch a game of chess (ass-kicked. er…) after getting back to nyc, i bike up to marisol’s and we go have drinkies around hells kitchen.
anyhoos…jus got back from blading with pho down the west side highway. ah…relaxing. except for the odd rainshowers. but whatever. my parents brought me my nike blades last weekend…and i hadnt used them since…college? holy. anyhoo…it felt like i was still in form. i couldnt stop, but who needs to stop? stoppings overrated.
