{"id":604,"date":"2004-05-07T09:32:56","date_gmt":"2004-05-07T09:32:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.m3ntalcontraband.com\/?p=604"},"modified":"2020-11-09T11:22:52","modified_gmt":"2020-11-09T16:22:52","slug":"the_chronicles_of_riddick","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/m3ntal.halleytsai.com\/?p=604","title":{"rendered":"the chronicles of riddick"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text-paragraph\">hmm\u2026apparently ive never posted about the upcoming <i>pitch black<\/i> sequel with vin diesel\u2026<i>the chronicles of riddick<\/i>. couldve sworn i did. i think i was a little unsure about its prospects and was waiting to be impressed. i suppose now tho it deserves a mention, because the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\/trailers\/universal\/thechroniclesofriddick\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">second trailer<\/a> released today is absolutely slick. where the first <i>pitch black<\/i> was gritty and realistic, the <i>chronicles<\/i> takes an alternate path towards highly stylized future baroque, in the same vein as david lynch\u2019s <i>dune<\/i>. vin diesel is still kicking ass as riddick, the annoying little androgynous pest jack\/jackie from the first <i>pitch black<\/i> grew up to become the hottie kyra, and even eomer shows up as one of the top nut-kickers, vaako. they even have dame judi dench yo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-paragraph\">while we\u2019re on <i>the chronicles of riddick<\/i>, i should also mention <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cinescape.com\/0\/Editorial.asp?aff_id=0&amp;this_cat=Video%20&amp;%20DVD&amp;action=page&amp;obj_id=41404\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">dark fury<\/a> too\u2026the accompanying animated story for the <i>chronicles<\/i>. similar to how the <i>animatrix<\/i> collection of animes accompanied the <i>matrix<\/i> sequels, <i>dark fury<\/i> is an animation produced by peter chung (<i>aeon flux<\/i>) that bridges the first <i>pitch black<\/i> and <i>the chronicles<\/i>. the dvd comes out on june 15 (4 days after the premiere) and should be interesting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-paragraph\">&gt;
