{"id":452,"date":"2004-02-22T19:20:14","date_gmt":"2004-02-22T19:20:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.m3ntalcontraband.com\/?p=452"},"modified":"2020-11-10T16:40:12","modified_gmt":"2020-11-10T21:40:12","slug":"casshern_cutie_honey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/m3ntal.halleytsai.com\/?p=452","title":{"rendered":"casshern + cutie honey"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text-paragraph\">i just saw this coo trailer today\u2026even tho its been out for a while. theres a new live-action movie being produced in japan based on the old anime <a href=\"http:\/\/www.casshern.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">casshan (casshern): robot hunter<\/a>. its not one of the better known animes in america, but the sci-fi channel\u2026back before the days of cartoon network and toonami, played the 90\u2019s remake of <i>casshan<\/i> a few times during their anime blocks saturday morning. the original <i>casshan<\/i> was released back in the early 1970\u2019s, and followed the story of a human who fights the robot oppressors of the future by giving up his humanity to become an android himself. the new \u201c<i>casshern<\/i>\u201d live action movie veers decidedly away from the old post-apocalyptic imagery and is very steamboy-meets-1984-esque. industrial cities, flying airships, mechanized iron robots, numerous orwellian imagery\u2026even a bit of russian constructivism too (along with the use of cyrillic). very coo. i actually had a hard time putting the two together when i first saw the trailer\u2026id forgotten about the old anime til i saw this trailer. ill definitely have to check out the movie when its released on dvd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-paragraph\">and another anime android getting a modern live-action makeover\u2026theres a new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cutiehoney.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">cutie honey<\/a> trailer out as well. yea\u2026best not to ask.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-paragraph\">&gt;
