{"id":275,"date":"2003-11-05T09:30:03","date_gmt":"2003-11-05T09:30:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.m3ntalcontraband.com\/?p=275"},"modified":"2020-11-11T11:00:26","modified_gmt":"2020-11-11T16:00:26","slug":"matrix_finale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/m3ntal.halleytsai.com\/?p=275","title":{"rendered":"matrix finale"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text-paragraph\"><b>current selection<\/b> | nigo \u2013 <i>march of the general<\/i><br><b>feelin\u2019<\/b> | <i>matrix-y<\/i><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-paragraph\">ill first stick this bit of info into the precedings. theres a new teaser trailer up for a roland emmerich film called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\/trailers\/fox\/dayaftertomorrow\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the day after tomorrow<\/a> about a post-\u201capocalyptic\u201d second ice age\u2026a pretty scary (but real) possibility. it stars dennis quaid and jake gyllenhaal, one of my favorite actors at the moment\u2026so take a look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-paragraph\">in a little over 12 hours, ill be watching the finale to a 4 year trilogy\u2026woo! there have so far been a fair amount of bad reviews and an even amount of good (and some disturbingly excited) reviews for <b>matrix revolutions<\/b>. i think <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2003\/SHOWBIZ\/Movies\/11\/04\/sprj.caf03.review.matrix\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">paul clinton<\/a>, who i incidentally think is an absolute arse of a reviewer, stated it best when he said, \u201c<i>when it comes to the <b>matrix<\/b> franchise, either people love it \u2014 really, really love it. or they hate it \u2014 really, really hate it.<\/i>\u201d cant disagree with you there, ass cheeks. the reviews have been almost predictably split down a demarcated boundary. most of the tepid-to-vicious reviews have been from your average pedestrian fare (newspapers, etc\u2026), while almost all of the positive reviews came from cinema and entertainment sources (ign, cinescape, etc\u2026) so since i subscribe to the latter, ill probably be thoroughly entertained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-paragraph\">after reading a number of reviews, i started noticing a pattern. not in the uniformity of critiques of <i>the matrix<\/i> specifically, but how some of the critiques are repeated over and over again. many of the negative reviewers kept stating how everything is cliched and uninventive\u2026unimaginative. i was thinking then\u2026have we gotten to the point where we\u2019ve seen everything?
