{"id":269,"date":"2003-11-03T10:05:06","date_gmt":"2003-11-03T10:05:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.m3ntalcontraband.com\/?p=269"},"modified":"2020-11-11T11:01:40","modified_gmt":"2020-11-11T16:01:40","slug":"indiscriminate_mondays","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/m3ntal.halleytsai.com\/?p=269","title":{"rendered":"indiscriminate mondays"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text-paragraph\"><b>current selection<\/b> | dubpistols \u2013 <i>pick it up<\/i><br><b>feelin\u2019<\/b> | <i>toasty<\/i><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-paragraph\">everyday seems to be random, no? i was watching <i>i love the 80\u2019s strikes back<\/i> on vh1 last night, and it seemed one part comforting, one part disturbing. i am at that point in life where they can make tv specials out of my childhood\u2026.eek. the next phase in this cycle of life is the recycling of the fashion trends as well. last i checked, we were in the <i>desperately seeking susan<\/i> mid 80\u2019s. the second i start seeing skidz pants and champion sweatshirts make a comeback, ill start worrying. so i caught the \u201987 and \u201988 editions of <i>ilt80sb <\/i>(pronounced <i>\u2018iliter-eighties-b\u2019<\/i>) before the simpsons came on. some of the highlights included: thundercats (hoooo!), <i>police academy<\/i>, the rise and fall of steve guttenberg, <i>beetlejuice<\/i>, the jamaican bobsled team and their bobsled-sized bong, and the eternally fresh <i>princess bride<\/i>. <i>princess bride<\/i> rocketh alot\u2026now i have to hunt down the dvd. and for some reason, it felt as if \u201987 and \u201988 was the breaking point between what felt 80\u2019s and what could pass as harbingers for the 90\u2019s. also of note is the fact that i don\u2019t like mo rocca. he sounded like an <s>ironic hipster<\/s> prick everytime words came out of his mouth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-paragraph\">some coo bits of news from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aintitcool.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">aicn<\/a> today. the first is a new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.innocence-movie.jp\/information\/trailer\/tokuho1.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">teaser trailer<\/a> for the new <b>ghost in the shell 2: innocence<\/b> movie. its a short teaser\u2026kinda feh in my opinion, but the visuals are ridiculous. theres however no visuals of motoko\u2026only bateau, and he\u2019s not the prettiest thing to look at.<br>aicn also pointed to the new <i>matrix revolutions<\/i> figures coming out from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spawn.com\/features\/matrix2\/main.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">mcfarlane toys<\/a>\u2026neo, morpheus, an a.p.u., etc\u2026woo! the figures are all from <i>revolutions<\/i>\u2026except maybe morpheus. that one looks more like the original morpheus from the first <i>matrix<\/i>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"340\" src=\"https:\/\/m3ntal.halleytsai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/morpheus_toy1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6632\" srcset=\"https:\/\/m3ntal.halleytsai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/morpheus_toy1.jpg 300w, https:\/\/m3ntal.halleytsai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/morpheus_toy1-265x300.jpg 265w, https:\/\/m3ntal.halleytsai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/morpheus_toy1-250x283.jpg 250w, https:\/\/m3ntal.halleytsai.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/morpheus_toy1-159x180.jpg 159w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>current selection | dubpistols \u2013 pick it upfeelin\u2019 | toasty everyday seems to be random, no? i was watching i love the 80\u2019s strikes back on vh1 last night, and it seemed one part comforting, one part disturbing. i am at that point in life where they can make tv specials out of my childhood\u2026.eek.
