i suppose ive spent enough of the shits and giggles<\/i> fund now\u2026and ive come away with nothing particularly useful. woo! i went up to midtown yesterday to try my hand at a little snooty snooty since i actually once used to frequent the shops north of the 50\u2019s. ah\u2026a whole different lifetime. as im walking up past 43rd street, i notice light screens and a crowd of people with cameras on the sidewalk, which usually means theyre shooting something. i stroll over and take a look. there wasnt much of a set or anything, but i did see johnny depp in his usual scruffy gig and gilligan hat, so i dont think it was for a movie. mebbe an interview. <shrug<\/i>> i then swung by rockefeller center to see if i didnt already miss the murakami exhibit (i did) so i instead went to kinokuniya<\/i>. they had a fresh new samurai fiction<\/i> in their little dvd area, so i snatched it up since i hadnt seen it offered at kims video<\/i> in a while. actually\u2026i found out later that they just stocked it too\u2026the copy i bought wasnt an import, but was actually an official american version. go fig. afterwards i went to the sony design center<\/i> to see if there were any new toys i could possibly buy. there obviously were, but they were just a weeee out of my budget. bollocks. i continued northwards to niketown <\/i>(suck) and then fao schwartz <\/i>(where the hell are their transformers?) and then headed home afterwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

there was a house party at domingo\u2019s that nite, so i met up with marisol, dora, and betty and we headed down ave c. the party was already kicking when we got there\u2026the only alcohol and mixers left were pepsi, oj, and cachaca (brazilian rum\u2026oh shit). so our choice of drinks was cachaca + pepsi\/oj\u2026oochies. the party was full of people we knew, and some that you look at and make that \u201cive seen you before<\/i>\u201d look, but you really have no idea when or where. i left at 1:15 to meet jane and her friends up in k-town for some late snacking. we went to gam mee ok<\/i> for some yum ox-tail soup to sober up. well, to sober me<\/i> up anyway\u2026whew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

today was supposed to be dim sum with jess\u2026but that was shat on by the time 2pm rolled by and there was no call. so i popped in the way home<\/i> (a korean dvd jane lent me the nite b4) and made myself some chili dogs. yum. i get a msg by 3:30 from jess and we finally meet up at her new apt in chinatown. holy shit is it a dump (no offense)\u2026but its pretty coo b\/c its a true loft. former sweat shop, buildable space, etc. and how many 1500 sf lofts can you really find in manhattan for such a good price? after a bit of a tour, we headed out to go shopping. we dropped by zakka<\/i> first, where i picked up a hajime katoki<\/i> art book (sweet), and then we headed northwards, hitting up random stores looking for shoes. after we went thru crate+barrel<\/i>, jess and her bf headed off and i came back home, where now im intent on cooking myself a big fat dinner of i dont know what. woo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
