{"id":173,"date":"2003-09-03T11:23:06","date_gmt":"2003-09-03T11:23:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.m3ntalcontraband.com\/?p=173"},"modified":"2020-11-11T14:10:52","modified_gmt":"2020-11-11T19:10:52","slug":"transformers_vs_orson_welles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/m3ntal.halleytsai.com\/?p=173","title":{"rendered":"transformers vs. orson welles"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"text-paragraph\"><b>current selection<\/b> | stan bush \u2013 <i>the touch<\/i><br><b>feelin\u2019<\/b> | <i>nipply<\/i><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-paragraph\">we\u2019re taking today to pay homage to one of the great 80\u2019s icons, <b>the transformers.<\/b> we\u2019re talking <i>generation one<\/i> here\u2026not the new shit with monkeys turning into robots or robots who stick smaller robots up their ass so guns pop out of their elbows. everyone who was anyone had transformers. and the culmination of this 80\u2019s culture was the cinematic apogee\u2026<i>transformers: the movie<\/i>. this was before the popularization of anime in the states, so people were probably thinking\u2026dude, kids stuff. theyre of course wrong. the movie starts with dozens of robots getting their asses capped left and right, main characters getting their heads and stomachs blown off, and theres the infamous moment when spike (realizing he\u2019s about to get eaten by a planet-sized robot) goes, \u201c<i>oh shit!<\/i>\u201d gosh\u2026memories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"text-paragraph\">the movie (surprisingly) had a pretty spankin\u2019 cast of actors, which included judd nelson, leonard nimoy, robert stack, john (micro-machines dude) moschitta jr, scatman, casey kasem, and eric idle\u2026not to mention the venerable orson welles as the voice of the all almighty nut-kicker unicron. orson welles <b>was<\/b> unicron! the mind boggles. so after unicron went around stomping everybody and eating their planets, everyone wanted a unicron toy. but for years the prospects of a unicron toy didnt look so hot\u2026til now. introducing\u2026the <a href=\"http:\/\/x-entertainment.com\/articles\/0828\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">unicron toy<\/a>!
