ah fuck it\u2026i couldn\u2019t bring myself to write about people in an unflattering light.\u00a0 so i tossed that portion of the story.\u00a0 moving on\u2026guess i can go straight to the \u201cmitigating circumstances!\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 which has also been a constant in my adult life\u2026my nagging parents.\u00a0 after a certain age, parents like to ramp up their nagging about girlfriends, settling down, etc\u2026moreso i feel like from asian parents.\u00a0 i was hoping my two nieces were enough of a distraction for them, but i suppose i underestimated their multi-tasking abilities.\u00a0 because out of nowhere one day i get an email from my dad that went something like \u201cso we were at an alumni event and i gave your number to a girl there. she\u2019ll be contacting you soon\u2026<\/i>\u201d\u00a0 my initial reaction was akin to \u201cfuck shit ass cock what the fuck??<\/i>\u201d\u00a0 something like that.\u00a0 it\u2019s not the first time they\u2019ve done something like this, but i was hoping it was over with.\u00a0 i was in a fair state of pissed-off-ness that i decided then and there to sign up for match.\u00a0 yerp\u2026this will evolve into a match story. more on that later.\u00a0 the girl calls the next day, but i was out getting trashed (partially due to the aforementioned situation)\u2026so decided not to answer.\u00a0 she calls again a few more times (i\u2019m still out) but eventually resorts to an email.\u00a0 so i read it, and it goes \u201cyea stop trying to avoid me.\u00a0 i\u2019m actually married with a kid\u2026just wanted to introduce you to friends<\/i>\u201d etc etc.\u00a0 this puts me at ease, so i return her call the next day and set up a lunch.\u00a0 besides, i figured my wrath should be directed at my parents and not at the girl who was nice enough to respond to my parents\u2019 odd tendencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
at this time too i\u2019m making my way thru the odd world of online dating.\u00a0 which in all honesty isn\u2019t all that odd.\u00a0 i\u2019ve had a number of friends already married and whatnot as a result of online dating\u2026so i figured it was due time i gave it a roll.\u00a0 the reassuring thing (and concurrently the bad thing) about online dating is that it\u2019s alot like normal dating\u2026you can still get stood up (oh man that sucked bad), girls still don\u2019t return your calls (or messages in this regard), and dates can still be a minefield. which i suppose is reassuring in its own way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
