perusing today\u2019s penny arcade<\/a> and then reading the subsequent story<\/a> (i\u2019m not a console gamer, so it\u2019s all news to me) reminded again that there is a vast sea of dickery out there in the gaming world.\u00a0 for the most part it\u2019s easy to avoid, or in my particular case of warcraft gaming, the instances of dickery are usually so infantile that it\u2019s easy to channel out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

i found it coincidental then that i had to deal with my own dickery as recently as yesterday.\u00a0 as any wow gamer knows, the daily pug (pick-up group for the uninitiated) is a ritual many go thru to get their shiny emblems.\u00a0 i usually get mine out of the way early in the evening before a raid or just logging off and heading out the door.\u00a0 i\u2019ve been lucky, in that the groups i\u2019m usually tossed into have been amiable.\u00a0 yesterday pretty much shit all over that semi-flawless track record.\u00a0 the run itself started off pretty bad.\u00a0 upon zoning in (cos), the healer states he needs to break for 5 minutes to go shit.\u00a0 i go \u201cwtf\u201d, while the tank decides to just leave.\u00a0 awesome.\u00a0 a new tank arrives shortly, but starts bitching about the length of the \u201crole-play\u201d until he notices that we\u2019re already well into the dialogue.\u00a0 red flags go up however as he liberally tosses out \u201cfag\u201d and \u201cshit\u201d in his typical communiqu\u00e9.\u00a0 fine, whatever.\u00a0 we get thru the first half, and then the healer decides to bail too all of a sudden.\u00a0 maybe he was clairvoyant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

a replacement arrives and we continue on.\u00a0 the tank wants to do an achievement, and dishes out vague and retarded directions to the rogue to do so and so.\u00a0 the rogue does as he\u2019s told, and we don\u2019t get the achievement.\u00a0 more \u201cfags\u201d are tossed about in party chat.\u00a0 i tell him to shut the fuck up.\u00a0 he immediately retorts with \u201cno you\u201d (oh shit), and proceeds to go on a diatribe about how i\u2019m fat (hardly) and a nerd (possibly) and have never seen a vagina (i have\u2026they\u2019re nice).\u00a0 i\u2019m unaccustomed to being bombared with 3rd grade insults, so i just tell him to stop breathing and point out that he\u2019s a fucking idiot for calling others nerds while within an online game.\u00a0 he continues on about people not having seen vaginas and butchering the use of \u201cyour\u201d vs \u201cyou\u2019re\u201d.\u00a0 its intolerable.\u00a0 i\u2019m mashing the \u2018vote to kick\u2019 option but we\u2019re in combat.\u00a0 by the time i can however, we\u2019re at the last boss, and i think \u201cfuck it\u201d.\u00a0 we jump on the last boss, i notice the little dick\u2019s not tanking\u2026so i proceed to tank and kill the boss with little to worry about.\u00a0 i type out a last message suggesting he\u2019s a failure at many things, including this game and life, and leave immediately.\u00a0 in hindsight (of course), i\u2026and we as a party, could\u2019ve probably 1. gotten him killed on the last boss, 2. had him kicked properly, or 3. track down his personal info and hire professional hitmen to torment him and anyone he\u2019s associated with.\u00a0 the first and second didn\u2019t happen for various reasons, and the third option can be costly and possibly illegal.\u00a0 so i just put in a ticket to a gm to have him suspended.\u00a0 hopefully we\u2019ll hear good news today!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
