i really do wish there were a way to stretch the period of time between thanksgiving and christmas.\u00a0 it flies by way too fast.\u00a0 maybe we should move thanksgiving to sometime in\u2026august.\u00a0 yes, august\u2026then we can pop out the christmas decorations at the end of summer and ride the holiday season all through fall and winter.\u00a0 word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
END OF NOVEMBER<\/b>
hmm, i guess i haven\u2019t posted a \u201cjournal\u201d entry in a while.\u00a0 bullet-point time\u2026or at the least a summation of various things i did, but without the specific times or days.\u00a0 the end of november saw fonz\u2019s berfday drinkies at 2a<\/i> in e.vil, luis\u2019 berfday drinks the following day at the whiskey tavern<\/i> in chinatown, brunch with pho at nyonya<\/i> (hey they moved across the street!), and thanksgiving with my sis and her extended family in joisey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
DECEMBER PROPER<\/b>
decembers events are a bit better catalogued, and it started with a mini-hot pot gathering at my place last weekend with i4, max, patsy, mai, and john.\u00a0 we loaded up enough food from chinatown for probably a small village and fired up dual hot pots.\u00a0 we got stuffed.\u00a0 it was good.\u00a0 i spent the rest of the week in a food coma, then met up with melissa friday nite at robata-ya<\/i> for plates and plates of robata goodness.\u00a0 i think (it\u2019s a bit fuzzy) we also tore thru a round of shochu, followed by 3 rounds of sake.\u00a0 this was then expounded upon with 2 more rounds of sake at decibel<\/i>, and another 2 rounds of\u2026stuff\u2026at angels share<\/i>.\u00a0 i\u2019m surprised that i shook it off as easily as i did the next day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
di and i went to check out the samurai exhibit at the met the next day.\u00a0 the exhibit was ending january 10th (it\u2019s a relatively short exhibit), and this was one exhibit that i would stab someone with a shank if i missed.\u00a0 the sizable collection of robes, samurai armor, and seriously gorgeous katanas made me giddy, though i sort of regretted that i took this long to see it (they change out the exhibit every week or so since their collection for the exhibit was larger than the amount displayed).\u00a0 god i hope they bring back a similar exhibit in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
