one thing i have been doing however for a while is getting back into anime. i was more or less out of the loop for a while\u2026i think the last series i got was noein<\/i>. but i4 sort of got me back into anime (inadvertently) when he gave me macross frontier<\/i>. since then i\u2019ve just been rolling thru series after series. some really good, some fucking terrible. seriously theres panty shots everywhere. apparently every single female character can only wear mini-skirts now (and in some cases, dont even wear pants)\u2026who knew? i\u2019ll also freely admit to digging the romance comedy genre. i know, i just damned myself\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

stuff i\u2019ve watched recently\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

the girl who leapt thru time<\/b> | rockin\u2019. not a series, but a movie. i was going to catch it at the japan society a few months back, but er\u2026forgot to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

macross frontier<\/b> | definitely quality. and its rife with homage to the original macross<\/i> (robotech<\/i> here in the states). i even pre-ordered the vf-25s messiah<\/a>\u2026ha!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

strike witches<\/b> | garbage. gonzo, you let me down. last exile<\/i> rocked\u2026this is just a bunch of girls flying around without pants. if you watch this and like it, you\u2019re a dirty old man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

tengen toppa gurren lagann<\/b> | actually, i watched this a while back, but i\u2019m lumping it into this post because i never mentioned it. thumbs up! very cool how its split between two time frames. and all because gainax liked the dude who did the second (or was it third?) episode of abenobashi<\/a> so much they gave him a shot at his own series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

melancholy of haruhi suzumiya<\/b> | i read all these reviews gushing about it, and i was thinking\u2026wtf, its just a typical high school girl whatever series. but i got it anyway and holy fuck, was i wrong. big thumbs up\u2026you have to watch this series. its not what you think at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

to aru majutsu no index<\/b> | i just started watching this. ill get back to you on this\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

toradora!<\/b> | actually pretty good. it definitely falls into the high school romance comedy whatever, but its still different. the girl is seriously evil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

wolf and spice<\/b> | booooring. this is an economics class disguised as an anime. they even threw in nekkid girls! but its still an econ class. *yawn*<\/p>\n\n\n\n

kannagi: crazy shrine maidens<\/b> | and my personal new favorite\u2026kannagi: crazy shrine maidens!<\/i>. its just weird funny\u2026quirky. and nagi\u2019s ridiculously cute. props to the studio that made kannagi too\u2026a-1 pictures<\/a>. ive never really seen their work before, but the animations just impeccable. heres to hoping they make a second season\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

there were others too\u2026but i\u2019m too embarassed to even admit i watched them. oh hey\u2026bonus. the end theme to haruhi. yea its totally weird, but <3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
